Young City (YC1) Project

The Young City Residential Complex is located in Budapest’s 13th district and combines the convenience of urban living with the serenity of green spaces in the Angyalföld neighborhood. While its proximity to the river adds to its charm, it also introduced significant challenges to the complex’s underground structures, particularly the underground parking.

Over time, water began to infiltrate the underground areas, threatening the structural stability of the parking facility. To ensure the safety and longevity of the complex, a tailored waterproofing solution was required.

The repair process to the concrete joint involved Xypex Patch’n Plug, to stop the waterflow to allow the repair to take place. Xypex Concentrate to ensure water can not bypass the waterproofing system installed in the joint. Manorteq ReadyProof, to reinstate the concrete that was broken-out and continue the Xypex waterproofing. Finally, the flexible MS Polymer was applied to allow expansion.

This solution not only resolved the immediate issue of water infiltration but also provided preventative protection against future problems. The integrity of the underground parking and the overall development is now safeguarded for the long term.
